Description

What are you looking for dear one What mysteries do you seek You can roam the halls of darkness For forever and a week For you can only open those doors With the key called Meek Have you journeyed far and long Dear one you search so hard But the doors of this universe For you they have been barred You will not enter from here With out the key called Scarred I see you have no choice in this My dear you try too much Forever will you search Yet your searching’s not enough For the chamber doors to your trial’s end Open with the key called Touch Why do you push this all aside And so procrastinate All the things will be left behind If you insist to wait You’ll need the key called Loneliness To open up this gate Is your chain now heavy From all the keys you hold Will you use them wisely now Before you get too old The Master key that you hunt for Has already been sold

Such a pleasure to read your poetry and the illustration goes very well. I wish I had a book of your stuff.

Rozanne has it true: "the illustration goes very well." You get your point across: well done. But for me, the rhyming clunks in a few places. An example is the second couplet(?), suggest you drop the "For" before "forever..." which may disturb the meter. But do read that line aloud. Dick, the non-poet

A well written poem that goes perfectly with the picture. I am inclined to agree with Dick, the non-poet however. Reading the poem aloud certainly brings about the need for changes to improve the flow. regards, Sammy

An interesting and well-worked metaphor throughout the piece. Mike
