Description

First off, this was a collaborative effort between my Daughter and myself. She is only 9, but already showing some skills and wants to be an animator when she grows up. The entire model was done in Carrara 5 Pro, with some skins being done in PSP X. She did the basic design and we both worked on the model. Forgive me if the image isn't up to my normal level of detail but 9 year olds can be fussy. :) Here we have the TX-15 Fighter (T for tactical and X for Experimental.) The TX-15 codenamed the Siren was built in the early days of the Imperial Dominion's research into Dimensional resonance technology. She employs 2 first generation Resonance cannons in her forward section and an additional larger cannon on each wing. She is also equipped with 4 underwing hardpoints which are normally used to equip her with a total of 12 Mk5 Hyperfusion missiles. She was designed in the days before the dominion had a reliable resonance propulsion system, and was equipped with 4 Mk6 High efficiancy Tridon Tachyon engines, capable of transiting her to hyperlight velocities and giving her intergalactic capabilities by using hyper Null Space compression technology. She may not be the fastest fighter by modern standards, but she can still compete in many small craft races which require more agility than speed. Her engines are fueled by a Hydrogen synth unit, augmented with a magnetic scoop to collect interstellar hydrogen. By modern classification, she would be considered a short range interception and attack fighter. She carries a crew of two, sitting in tandem in her forward cockpit. She was first developed as a hybrid prototype and later as a limited mass production run with the final designation of TC-15 for Tactical Combat. Only 500 of her class were built and almost half of those have survived to continue service to this day as civilian racers and express couriers. Please comment if you like the image, and constructive criticism is always welcome.

Very Cool render. Reminds me of some 1960's fighters.

I think she loosely based it on a model of an F104 we have. The ALpha Wing and general fuselage shape are similar.
