Description

Hello All! Was driving behind my home today and was drawn to all the beautiful clouds in the sky . I saw this cross white cross covered with flowers and knew someone had died there. It brought to mind of the VERY sad news I heard yesterday about Steve Erwin ( The famous Aussie crock hunter ) .. ( you can read about it on MSN he died doing what he loved best) but my heart goes out to his wife and two young children. My teen Annie cried as his animal show was her childhood favorite... never met him personally but his infectious enthusiam and zeal will be hard to ever forget. Just thinking about the loss of Steve's life so heavy on my heart today and tonight- and saw this cross by the road today and clouds so pretty- so thought I would share this with you of where my home next to in Southern California. Taken mid day in very HOT bright conditions. Post worked it and softened it a tad to help draw it out. DId it in pano or tried to ( don't think I have done many pano's on here ...) Taken with my little nikon 7900 pocket cam. Finally get that darn root canal done tomorrow ( dreading it ) so hopefully, my normal routine of things should be back to normal soon here.... *This pano probally won't look too good unless viewed at full size thank you! Thank you for all your time and comments! Love to you all! ((( BIG HUGS)))) ♥ ~Kimmers!

Extraordinary scene! I'm sorry for the family who lost their loved one and remember them with the cross and flowers, but this adds so much to the overall image, making it a spiritual and moving panaramtic scene. Excellent!

I think I could gaze at this forever...the line and flow simply steals one's breath away. The cross placed there gives it an almost sacred look...as if the mountains themselves were a monument to the life lost here. I truly love this one. It is beyond beautiful. Awe-inspiring work.

Excellent panorama - and your pw makes the hills look painted. A shame about Irwin - he had a genuine enthusiasm about all living creatures which I'm sure rubbed off on a lot of his viewers.

Great oil painting effect -- perfect balance between the rugged terrain and those delicate cumulus clouds. A fitting tribute...

a beautiful way to remember the croc man, and gorgeous scenery. I remember one show he was invading the space of a small animal and the animal bit him on the nose. a comment by one of his friends was that Steve was always in control, but sad but true, he was not in control of wild animals. they are always unpredictable, he was fortunate not to have been killed before.

I am inspired by your images most always. You manage to get amazing shots with that Nikon 7900. This pano makes me want to try something more than the usual close ups I do with mine, lol. Thanks for the inspiration and for sharing.

A gorgeous and majestic panorama. Looks like a painting and the cross gives it a spiritual beauty. I was also very saddened to hear about Steve Erwin. He was so very full of life and had much to give to the world. It is particularly tragic for he will never see his young children grow up, which I'm certain is very painful for his wife.. Hugs to you for your caring heart. CC

Awesome work, Kimmie! I love how you've post worked it to look like a painting, and how brilliant the colours are. This is a wonderful panorama image that I'd hang on my wall any day, if I could. Great job! I hope your root canal went well - and that you're not suffering too much. I have done that twice, and it's not fun, putting it mildly. Be brave, girl!!!

So this is where you live ? Lovely background view of mountains. We have those crosses with flowers all along the roads in NM. They are an hispanic tradition when someone dies from a car accident in that place. Kind of a memorial. I saw a program about them on local TV but I cannot remember the name they are called. It is very sobering to see one. Beautiful image and excellent panorama.
