Description
Tourmaline - a silicate mineral of aluminum and boron, but may often have iron, magnesium, calcium, lithium, and sodium. When tourmaline crystals become heated, they become electrically charged. Usually a dark or black color (iron) to brown/yellow (magnesium) or any color (lithium) tourmalines are usually multi or bi-colored. The most rare is the colorless achroite.
This cross style was my first model in the series. Simple hexagon with slightly tapered ends. A bit different than the previous posting.
The gemstone I was shooting for was amethyst, but the violet tint didn't come out as rich. Instead of altering the light sources to bring out the violet, I thought it would make for an interesting tourmaline.
The background has been postworked in PhotoPaint, using the stainglass filter. It makes for a nice Desktop Wallpaper.

You always have "trick" in your pic and this one is the stainglass effect. I think it's interesting... has something more. Anyway, can you try putting more colors on that stainglass? I am woman and I like color ;)
