Description
Chrysoberyl, also called cymophane, is an aluminate of beryllium - a hard yellow, green, or grey crystal, often found in alluvial deposits. The alexandrite variety may display a color change depending on the light. For example, a green alexandrite chrysoberyl may shift to red as the day progresses.
Recently I was contacted to do a cross in crystal. So I modeled several and rendered them in Bryce. This is from my second set of models.
About this image, two objects were used, four light sources. The material is standard Bryce. The play of color was achieved mostly from the light sources, one of which is a caustic material. Background was blurred in postwork. No postwork was done to the cross.

A nice study of a simple subject! Worth viewing at full size to see the interplay of light and colour. Well done!
