Description

Early the following day, Mary's ship La Sirene raises its anchor and moves in to engage The Black Heart. As the two ships gradually pull parallel to each other, Captain Caroline Dubois gives the order for The Black Heart's cannons to Fire! Holding fire until the best alignment is achieved, La Sirene's guns give a return volley. The two ships stay on station, exchanging fire and causing each other considerable damage. But unknown to Captain Caroline, the attack on her ship is not being led by Mary Morgan herself, but by her faithful deputy, Cutlass Kate...Mary is about to put the next part of their plan in place! ** To Be Continued ** Here we are, 23 chapters into the story and this is the first not to have Mary in it at all! For me, it is Kaol's magnificent Seatraveler ship model that really makes this scene. Many thanks for looking and thank you so much for all the feedback on recent pictures in the story. The ship looks fantastic! The image is filled with great details... like the smoke from the canons, and from the fire. Very realistic activity from the crew!

Did I mention yet how MUCH I'm enjoying this series? The ONLY nit I can pick on this scene is the unrealistic color scheme on the cannon carriages. Otherwise, this scene really takes you into the battle - you can almost smell the acrid odor of spent black powder! Really great job Phil!
