Description

I have a row of cacti in my kitchen window - which for most of the time are quite content with being green balls that grows an almost imperceptible amount each year. But then, once a year, or even once every other year - one of them decides to grow a flower. Once they bloom they last only a day, but they are huge (10 - 15cms diameter) and beautiful flowers. By the next day it's already wilting, so it's time to be patient - chances are I'll get a new one in a years time;)

What a lovely shot...and well worth waiting for.I love how mysterious you made it look.Wonderful work,Erik. LOL,your cacti sound like one of my orchids...I have one that not only looks atrocious all year but it's stickkkkkkkky, and I hate it,that is,until it flowers...and then I'm glad I didn't get rid of it,lol. Some things are just worth waiting for...even if we have to suffer a bit,huh?.-M ;^)

That's a big flower for a cactus! Beautiful. Your story made me laugh, I've been waiting a year for one of mine to flower. It's almost there but I am going on a trip so will miss it!
