Description

The Dance They spin, and they whirl, they maniacally twirl, In the arms of their lovers, the wind sprites. The leaves of Autumn flash by as they swirl, In the last colour drenched rays of the sunlight. Faster and faster, still faster they fly, After the wondrous kiss of the sun. As the faerie folk stand awestruck, by, While the couples unclasp one by one. The evening is closing as nightfall descends, The dancing slows down until finally it ends. Though while they were dancing, they were dervishes all, Breathless and spent they now quietly fall. They cover completely the flowers last days, A colourful quilt to keep them til spring. They will slumber in peace while they crumble to earth, And to the birdsongs of spring, they will nourish rebirth.
