Get These People Back Out of The Way: by Elgon Agis
I barked orders at my men as we emerged onto the scene of Clio's shop. Throngs of people were gathering...all eager and curious to see what was going on. And there seemed to more coming each minute. I knew that I had to get the crowd under control or things could turn ugly and chaotic at any moment. All it took was just one instigator to egg things on. People were funny, you never know what they will do or how they will react.
"Set up a perimeter line and get all those people behind it. Quickly! Before we have a mob on our hands. Let's get some order restored around here." I said as I surveyed the surroundings.
My men moved and spread out at the front of Clio's shop and amid protest and grumblings of the curiosity seekers, began pressing the people back out of the way until a clearing was established in front of the shop.
From somewhere in the crowd, a voice yelled out. "There's been a crime committed here Magistrate. What are you going to do about it?"
Moving to the front of the building, I turned and addressed the people.
"Good citizens of Athens.....please move back, or go about your business. If this is a crime scene, we don't need evidence and clues destroyed or compromised. I know you all want to find out what has happened......but please....let us do our jobs."
As the crowds were pressed back out of the way, I turned and made my over to Clio. She was obviously in a state of frantic distress.
"Hello Kyria Clio....You seem to have quite a following here today. Why don't you take a few moments, calm yourself down, and tell me just what is going on here."
