Description

I collect lots of fonts and recently found a wonderful source of shapes from a man called Luc Devroye. I settled down to making patterns from them, mostly in 2D but I turned this one to 3D by making the 'letters' into terrains. I did them in 16bit greyscale and converted them to pgm using Bikermouse's Tiffer, a trick I learned via Agentsmith in the Renderosity forums. That took a day.. it took me a week to work out how to light it so it looked good. Lighting is not my strong point and I still don't think I really got it that great. I'm done with it though. All that effort getting nice sharp terrains and condensing it to jpg just blurred it right off. Huh.
