Description

I spotted this guy crawling up the side of my house on the back deck and just happened to have the digital camera handy. I transferred him to the flower on my wife's mini rose where he cooperated quite nicely by posing for a few photos. Taken with an Olympus SP-350.

A very obliging subject I'd say. Fabulous shot, he looks on top of the world!!

The male mantis is so very distinct. I always feel a bit sad when I see one since I know that if he finds his true love amid the leaves, he will soon give his life for a brief moment of passion... :-) Lovely capture and good pov.

Wow I never knew they are so tame. You decision to move him to the rose proved to be a good one because this is an amazing shot. Now I never knew about male mantis giving their life for a moment of passion. Let's hope that he at least goes with a smile on his face!
