Description
And yet still another capture between 12/8/05 and 12/19/05, when nature put on a wild and woolly display of cloud formations rarely seen over Southern California. This is a combination of altocumulus and cirrocumulus clouds. Surprisingly, no rain resulted from all this posturing.
It is often referred to as a "buttermilk sky" because it resembles curdled milk, or a "mackerel sky" because it resembles markings found on a mackerel.
Haven't displayed one of these in a while, so you may have forgotten or missed the others I've posted.
Anyway, fasten your seat belts, many more of these type shots to come.

Look a cartoon ghost, a lambent dragon, an angels wing. Oh the things we ca see when looking skyward! The painting of the clouds by Natures colourful hand is exquisite! Thanks for capturing it. BJ

LOL at mamaboobijo. I have never been able to make out any figures from cloudscapes....other than cottonballs, lol. This sure is a lovely cloudscape as Sir Richard said. And the saturation really works splendidly for it. Have a great day and thanks for all the b-day wishes. #:o)

I can distinguish several layers in the clouds very well captures. Colours are pleasantly saturated.
