Description
Another capture of nature's hijinks over Southern California in early December 2005. You sky lovers and fans of the film, CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND, should savor this.
My research indicates these are cirrocumulus clouds. No rain resulted from this because of a lack of moisture in the air and a stable air mass.
There was such constant change in cloud patterns during that eleven day period you could snap away at light speed at the same area of the sky and still get a different display. I know there are some individuals out there who claim they see this stuff all the time where they live, but for me this was a rare unfolding and unforgettable panorama of beauty and drama.

Oooh! I love clouds like that. Unfortunatly we dont get them here so i can only enjoy them here on RR. The look like a big blanket with foldmarks. So perfectly symmetric. Have a great day. #:O)
