Description
Symphony of the Sea
Lone Pohutakawa stands
Stooped
Bent
From prevailing wind.
Cliff edge rostrum
Roots firmly planted in.
Limbs outstretched, conducting
As waves drum-roll endlessly
Bringing forth a symphony of sounds
From the orchestra of the sea.
Sea spray cymbals crash
Upon cliff face, noisily
Trickling woodwind's softer notes sound
As sea retreats to sea.
Cape pigeons, gulls and terns
Play strings, viola and violin
Sunrise brings a calm
Harps sparkling notes from within.
Muted trumpet, soft and low
Brass heralds the new born day
Now softly woodwinds blow
Tempest, her music played.

Your words paint a beautiful crescendo of a roaring sea crashing onto the shore. Wonderful writing!

Even in her fury she is beautiful. Not a force to reckon with not a force that can be tamed. Yet men fall in love with her over and over again. Beautifully done Sammy! Ah....so you love the sea as well? EY, ~Michelle~

What a love song! Were she flesh I would be blushing to overhear the wistful tenderness when you speak of her. Thanks for sharing. BJ
