Description
Ah Sweet Mistress
Ah Sweet Mistress
Of my turmoil.
Sweet Mistress,
Of my dreams.
Mistress,
Of my heartaches,
Mistress,
Of my untold schemes.
Always there
To tempt me,
With your ever alluring ways.
Enticing me into your arms,
But never, to let me stay.
Rising up,
To meet my challenge.
You crest,
Rising again to meet me.
Taking all
That I can give.
Yes,
Taking all of me.
Then done with me,
Having had your will,
You leave me lying there,
Spread out and exhausted
Running your fingers
Through my hair.
But I will return, tomorrow
To tame you, God willing, He'll let it be
For me to claim you, my one true love,
Yes, You,
Sweet Mistress ......The Sea.

Mistresses. Can't live with 'em and can't live without 'em. WINK. SO well written piece!!

Excellent poem with a nice twist at the end; there's many an old sea dog in Davy Jones's locker that have tried; at least they're lying with their mistress now.

Lovely words. Unfortunately She most always claims men ( and women) in the end. Thanks for sharing. BJ

Very nice. I liked reading it. I have felt that way many times with women in my life but never with the sea. but it touched me. Very nice poem

The sea like a woman can never be claimed or tamed. It is the very challenge that attract man. Like a sweettooth, you never seem to be able to get enough of it. Her salty perfume an aphrodisiac.....and she gives, sweetly, willingly, wantonly. And she takes you with equal appetite. EY Michelle
