Description

AlooooooHa! Evening everyone....Here's a shot of a Kumu Hula or Teacher of Hula. Here he poses with his ipu which is made from a hollowed out gourd. By hitting the flat end on the ground and hitting the sides with the open palm it creates a steady beat or count for the dancers. All the while he is singing the story of the song for the dancers. The head band is made of ti leaves, the same material that hula skirts are made of. The flower lei around his neck is called Maile, which is a scented vine. nICE SHOT. i LOVE THE WAY THE BACKGROUND IS TOTALLY OUT OF FOCUS SO THERE IS NO INTERFERENCE WITH THE MAIN IMAGE. THE COLORS ON MY MONITOR DID NOT QUITE COME OUT RIGHT THOUGH...THE GREEN WAS NOT "GREEN" AND THE YELLOW WAS DULLISH
