"There are two kinds of photographers: those who compose pictures and those who take them. The former work in studios. For the latter, the studio is the world.... For them, the ordinary doesn't exist: every thing in life is a source of nourishment" ~ Ernst Haas
Sick of Cumberland Island's wild horses yet? Well, if you are, here is some good news. This is the last of them for now. Taken right before I left the beach to do some more exploring, I caught this stallion making his way through the dunes to his herd that had congregated on the beach. Something about a long empty beach, a coming storm and a lone and regal untamed creature seems to make for an emotional image. There was no cropping of the photo this time. I'd like to dedicate this photo to my father, Paul Kramer. Today is his 65th birthday. He got me started with my love of photography. ----- Thank you for your sandy comments on my last upload, Panoramus Equidae Beachius. Please view today's photo full size, the smaller version loses something.

No sand in the ointment please! Actually that's similar to a Talking Heads CD title? Wonderful shot Kortsan!! The lone horse, making it's way to the naked horse beach party!! Righteous!! Though, is it really fair for him to show up at dawn? When the other equine participants have been partying all night? Can't wait to see the candids! ~ Peace

The beach area is huge! This must be a wild expanse of shoreline. Why do the horses come here? Isn't the water salt-water? They can't drink it. Is it because it's easy to see predetors?

A poignant dedication to your Dad. Kort, do you make up these titles, or are they bonafide Latin terms? Wonderful panorama of the riderless horse, meandering its way up the desolate, windswept beach in its quest to find its way back home.....the ranch, possibly?
marybelgium
