Description

I've wanted to try this for a long time - after seeing all the drippin' depictions by Andreas and Vera (and several others). I finally got around to it, and although it took quite a bit of trying, failing and then trying again - I managed to get some decent shots in the end... I'll probably try to rig a better setup at a later time (this was shot handheld with a 105mm macro lens and flash) - I think a tripod would be worth the bother:) But for now I've got several pictures that are good enough, which I'll probably dish out over the next weeks. Have a nice weekend everyone! (I have to be at work 06:00 saturday morning - in.. um ..5 hours *yaaawn*)

Wow you shot that without tripod Eric. Excellent work. I did some drop shots and was really great way to learn camera settings. Look forward to more and what camera settings was this taken on?

I have wanted to try it but feel my Canon may not be fast enough. your handheld effort is stunning and makes me want all the more to give a try

as 4 me, when i shoot water drops i always have to use a tripod & a remote control to stop any form of camera shake. but i must say that u did a good job with dis one, the focus, colours, pov & dof is jus perfect. congrates on dis perfect shot, i really like it. i think its high time i get myself a 580 flash gun, so i can shoot some fan drops.

Thats an awesome first attempt Erik. With that shallow DOF its a real challenge getting a drop in focus, but you sure succeeded with honors. A tripod is definitly worth the bother if you ask me. My set-up is this: Cam mounted on tripod....me shooting away with one hand as i squirt drops with my other hand. I dont see why a remote is neccessary. You have such high shutterspeed so unless your pounding the shutter on your cam i hardly think youll get any blurry shots on account of camera movement. Good luck and have fun...that goes for work too, lol. #:o)
