Description

To continue my recent spree of macroes I have another shot of a Black Darter [Sympetrum danae] today. Shot at a different time, but at the same place, as my previous Black Darter. This place is full of them for a couple of months each summer. Once again I've photographed a female (for some strange reason I only seem able to get close to females - not that I'm unhappy about that in any way...:).

all of them seem to be more hospitable some times especially early in the morning before they can warm up. everyday when I feed my dogs they are flying all around me but they never land to my dismay. outstanding macro

LOL at only getting close to the females. :^D Excellent capture,Erik.The detail is wonderful and wow it's not even hanging onto a stick!( They always seem to be,lol. )Congrats.It's a beauty.-M :^)
