This is the second picture with this displacement map. Here are some explanations and answers. I made the map with corel draw ( some years ago ) for Bryce to create a cupboard with a terrain. And then I tried the map as a displacement map in Cinema 4D with Sub-Polygon Displacement. The map has a resolution of 1100 x 1200 Pixel The plane is divided in 4 Polygon's and the subdivision level is 10. The strengths is 100% and the Hight is on -300m. This time I cut the map, one half with displacement and the other without to show the effect. And I ad a picture from the map to show how a map like this luck like. Whether this kind of displacement save rendertime depends on what you want. I you bake the texture you will defiantly save rendertime. All this a answers to the questions to my last picture
