Thank you for your visits and very interesting comments on Cream topping. The hill was for real and is found as you leave the Oliviershoekpass on the Harrismith side. The green lane is a fire-break running across. The grass was burnt early in the season. Then a real fire occurred which destroyed the grass and jumped this fire-break because of the strong winds. The fire-break now displays the longer green grass and creates the odd effect and difference in legths of the grass.
This neck breaking perspective of the Eucalyptus or gum tree is hopefully more interesting than looking at the endless rows of trees in the plantations found in the Drakensberg. The Eucalyptus was brought in from Australia in the 1800's.
