Description

This is a letter i sent in my own defence. This was discussed on Thu, Sep 21, 2006 8:59 am in the Vendor Support forum and Debbie said Aiko is an anime figure, not a child in answer to the question, "isn't Aiko a child". I get alot of mixed messages reading about what your rules mean...I think it is really a shame that you took something that was considered cute and made it into something perverted with your oppinions.....This is a slap in the face and a deep insult to me as i have raised 2 families of children, mostly girls ..am an accomplished artist in my area and dont appreciate having my art dumped on by your oppinion..and thats what it is when your rules cant be printed in plain english and it takes a meeting of moderators to condem my art...i am beside my self with anger from this ridiculous desicion. It is completely unfair and uncalled for..as your rules are not clear...read your own forums and you will see...that you have said one thing and then condemed my art and gave me another warning for something i was told i could do...This is unfair.end of letter. once again i am not happy posting here..it is really to bad as i was trying my hardest to rekindle the magic that used to be here...I love my friends but really hate the rules here ,,or really the rule team who seams to make it up as they go along..Totally unfair.!and after talking to some people here i find that they have gotten warnings for just stating oppinions..it reminds me of cold war times in russia.such Bullshit! If you have a problem with this decision i urge you to speak up,as i have done many times before for other members.otherwise its just me against them..and really thats the way it has been most of the time as people are scared to defend thier friends here.i have said it before it is my battle, but i would sure appreciate some support... as i think i deserve an appology from renderosity..

Bill.. all I can say is DeviantArt.com because it is a more open and very mature! Renderosity is probably trying so hard to keep its status with Paypal that its suppressing the artwork of its users!! RO is going to lose more and more of its users and when they see 0 artists online, it will be the wake up call they need!! Aiko characters are not children but RO is too blind to see what!! Awesome work hun!! Keep up the fight!! I right behind you!!

I have also been warned that i am now on thier shitlist and i need to be careful..so you see they are working on the fear factor also...and if this last image breaks the TOS i have at least 100 more in my gallery that does also..so it really makes no sense at all.look at my last halloween image with Aiko she is sitting on the pumpkin stem..and she is Aiko..It is how you look at an image..if you are a pervert you will see perverted things in most images.I am not a pervert...i respect woman and children and peoples private sexuality.

I agree Bill, the rules here are bullshit, and you DO deserve an apolagy. But if we all gave in and accepted things the way they are, nothing would ever change. I'm going through a similar situation in my personal life, but a few months ago, I took it upon myself to change things. If you and other well respected artists here were all to speak up like this, I'm sure it would grab some attention. Anything worthwile is worth fighting for. As msebonyluv said, keep it up! - Matt

Bill, I'm afraid I have to agree with you, and I'm not sure what the anser is. Usually I tend to answer with satire in the galleries (re: site format change -- http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=425801 or the former ratings system -- http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=374380). Most times you get plenty of support from other artists, but none from the ones who actually make the decisions. My son once got banned from this site for letting the administration know that there were all kinds of holes in their code that would allow any user with just a little knowledge do things they weren't supposed to. He was trying to help; they called him a hacker. Myself, I'm here about the art...all kinds of art featuring all kinds of subjects. The old and the young, the tall and the small as it were. If you do decide to start posting elsewhere out of frustration, I hope you'll drop me a line. Wherever you post, sir, I shall go and look.

So Very True Indeed! Sadly, This Place Once So Magical, Is Quickly Becoming A Place Of Prudishly Viewed Art Suppression!

I agree with you bill it BS. Art is for art sake. YOu images are wonderful, seductive, playful, sensual, and enduring. If "someone" wants to find something to "fit" into a TOS, I'm sure they can do just that. Isn't that what the Nazi's did for anyone not a perfect German? Or Bush with Terrorism in the United States? (oh I'd better watch myself - run and hide).

Like someone else said, DeviantArt is fair and the 3D community there is growing by leaps and bounds. I really don't understand how they do this, seems like it's based on personal judgement not impartiallity.

Rosity is a public forum for posting art that is acceptable to all public eyes. DeviantArt and Renderotica are more behind closed doors that those who object to the content inside cannot enter. I think of it like clothing - when you are out in public a female must wear her leather bra with her thong and chaps, but she can take it off once through the doors. She doesn't have a completely different public outfit though. Now I could start down that road of protest and complain that the shirtless guy with her doesn't have on a bra and that is so not fair, but I'm too old for that any more. I protest with my wallet now as I simply cannot afford the anger with all the emotional upheaval in my life. Don't stop expressing yourself or your art, Bill. Don't leave the public bereft of your art either. Post in both, or all three sites, but only buy from the ones that allow you full expression. Sorry for the long winded comment, folks.

I agree! I really don't think Renderosity is concerned about art as much as sales. If venders sell Aiko characters and clothes here, and artists purchase them, then RO is happy.

I'm so sad to ear you are not confortable! I love your art, I never saw anything that could hurt anyone feelings on it but, I guess this depends on the eyes wich are looking to it, doesn't it?!...What really makes me unconfortable is the fact that artists can try to motilate others art. Oh well, sorry for my bad english...what I'm trying to say is that...you have the support from all of us who keep commenting your works and considering you a major artist...that, no one can take from you!!! And wherever you post,I'll be there commenting, with my confused english! :)

I have noticed that most of the artist here at rendo that did Aiko are now doing other charcharters because rend just do not like Aiko. It is a crying shame that the most talented artists are being taargeted for centure and banned for their great art. one of thesee days if they are not careful they will not have any artists at all beccause they will all be somewhere else where their talent is greatly liked and welcomed. if they want to be that dumb then they will not have a site because there will not be anyone here to do the art and no one to look at it. you have my support bill and i love your wonderful art and beeautiful talent

Chalk up another vote of support here. The witch hunt continues, it seems. I understand that Renderosity does have to take a stand regarding some material. But I think they take it too far and jump anytime someone, anyone, find something they find to be negative. Worst of all, it doesn't even seem to be consistent. Unfortunately, this has led to the ousting/banning of several very talented artists in the past few months. Something just isn't right. Despite the problems Rendo may have on the galleries (which is about all I see, by choice), I've decided to stick around. I enjoy seeing other peoples' work. And when I get something done, I'll add my own if I feel it's good enough. It doesn't matter to me much if I get ratings or comments or views. It's nice though. And I figure I must be doing something right to have the same people view my stuff and comment. To me, that is enough. And that's why I've decided to stay and not delete my own gallery as a pre-emptive strike/show of support (protest).

You've got my support Bill, the rules must become more clearly and there has to be a much better judging of our work than there has been up till now. I concider it an insult to the artist when a image is removed, because of the fact they call it child nudity or worse. A person who makes such a judgement has to understand what he is doing to people, it is not just removing an image from the gallery but also questioning somebody's integrity. Keep your head up my friend, your images are art and nothing else.

Man...if Aiko's not a child, then Tiguanleap got screwed too. If they'd just be clearcut about what is and isn't acceptable...sighs Hope you stick around still, but I can totally see why you wouldn't.

Man, its a raw deal that ppl use their subjective perceptions to ridicule ppl's artwork on such a shakey basis - you're right - if you see something pervotic in an innocent image as you had there, then they'll see it in anything - sighs why not art for arts sake - why hate when you can create for godss sakes shakes head Anything you need my friend, Im there! - Outstanding image btw - great colors :)

I agree!!! THIS SUCKS!!! You said it, a perv will see perv stuff!!! It's like my use of the pookling by sarsa and thorne, she is not a child but is a creature but looks child like. I adore her but can't do what I want here with her so I will post her on my very own grownup site instead! I only post here because I get feed back and help from you awesome artists and the venders. I post other things on my very own grownup web site. LOLOL. This is just gettin outta hand.

Alot of things start with the best intentions and for the good of the people within. Somehow success is snatched by the unworthy and the people are left afraid and uncertain! Only in strength and an undivided togetherness can we all overcome this state of seige we now witness. I stand with you Bill. Walking away won't solve the problem here...will it?

If anyone can pull off making an Aiko pretty and tasteful, it's you Bill. I on the other hand, have no clue. It takes a very sensitve and creative flair to do that. I agree we all need to stand by you morally on this for the sake of art, full stop. Right with you Bill! Steve :o)

I'm very sorry to hear your image was removed. I remember the 'spanking' and polygon reference, but she seemed grown up to me. I dislike censorship in any form, particularly in art, and must agree the rules regarding Aiko seem arbitrary and confusing. I really hope Rendo finds a way to resolve the issue that is a win-win for all. CC
