Description

This started out more as a Materials study than anything else whilst originally playing with Jaybeeh (Jeffs) recent planet release. The planet I will make available in my freestuff soon. The High Specularity was added itentionally. Theres some 16+ Texture leaves in the terrain alone & the terrain forms are kept with small displacements to allow for reasonable reflections in the water as large displacements dont show. This planet is render friendly ideally at 10km down to 25m ..dependant on where you venture on the terrain. I didnt add in a moon on purpose...if you so wish add to your hearts content. You can also have some great fun by simply amending the BLENDS betweenthe 2 main material leaves (FG) opr by amending anyone of the nested materials & textures etc. The main image is PP by 12% contrast & the obvious thumbnails addition. Great material blending Woz, it does look like semi precious stone. I like the colours too... Are the small thumbnails other views from the same planet ? Ive downloaded it but not had the chance to explore yet.

Nice mats, but it would be better to have more of the color variety. A bit too much greens here. And green atmo doesn`t help it.

Thnaks for the feedback which is welcomed. @ Oct - Yes they are just random shots of the terrain. @ Slav - I left the mats as they are for the mo for a couple of reasons, due to the way that the materials are laid out & from my topic details I suggested playing with the materials blends. You can get blues, maroons, yellows etc etc....simply by amending the bland values using the default add/max/min/multiply etc etc. The sky was originally a typical blue & can be changed vey easily. You will also notice that the water is also green. So with all these greens came the title "Emerald Isle". I think from memory theres some 8 nested materials...2 nested>2 nested>4 mats or there abouts. Ill post up some samples in a thread in the Mojo forum with some simple mats blend changes to show the variety over thecoming days, to give you an idea.

I like the look of this place Woz!!....The patchy section of the mats (foreground through middle of image) is superb man!!...I'm not sure about those "streaks" running horizontally through this image but maybe they work with a different POV....Hope I find time to visit this place soon....sounds interesting!!

I like both the "steeper" materials and the grass variations in the forground (that one is exceptional I think). The "very" green mat could do with some added variaty as it looks rather flat, maybe some tiny added displacement could do this.
