I was born in Zimbabwe on 03/06/88. My family, consisting of parents, older brother and sister, migrated to South Africa when I was six months old. We moved back to Zimbabwe six years later, to help my grandparents on their farm - a career change for my father.
After a measly eighteen months we upped sticks and went farming on our own. This led us to Kwekwe, in the heart of Zimbabwe, to farm tobacco! Borrowdale farm which is part of the "Midlands Black Rhino Conservancy" is where we settled . This was the most incredible experience, living with such an abundance of wild life ........... of which we became a part of during the school holidays! Due to the "land redistribution policy" we had no option but to move on.
10th November, 2001 saw us arrive in New Zealand with our former lives packed into a suitcase each, ready to start our new lives. Our first three years were spent on the South Island and I nearly froze!!!!!!! A great employment opportunity for my father had us move up to the North Island. I now live on a farm just outside Matamata aka "Hobbiton" (defrosting).
Yep that should sum it up ha!

I'm sorry,Kai.This is a wonderful photo, and very well taken, but,BUT,you uploaded such gorgeous,GORGEOUS shots in that silly thread for throwaways.I'm sorry, but there were more than a few there that I would have uploaded waaaaay before this one.Sorry.I guess I'm just going to have to chalk it up to your own artistic sensibilities...Next time, maybe that daisy against the blue sky?Huh?Pretty please?LOL.-M :^)

I don't know if my opinion has a great importance as I'm still beginner in photoart, but when I opened here I was stuned and believed first you've painted or applied a paint effect with a filter cause the tree and the background look quite a Canne picture ! I agree with you, that must be uploaded and shared with us ! Nice shot

Well,Kai, I like the contrast between the beautiful natural tree and the earth moving tractor... so, for me it's a nice picture ! :~)

I agree with Marlene...id loooove to see that sheep against that dark blue/grey sky myself. LOL. But that doesnt mean that i dont like this photo. I think the depth in it is simply remarkable. The way that tree and "grskopa" (thats your swedish word for today...since i cant think of what its called in english, lol) pop really make it look 3-dimensional. Is this another one of your impressive HDR-tries? Have a wonderful day Kai! #:O)

Very clever, Kai. I like how the earth mover is bowing down to the only beautiful tree in the area. I hope that means the tree stays! I always vote to leave trees and nature well enough alone. :0)

Man you had me look twice to see how the title fits into this and I went "wow!" it is so obvious. Very sharp eye to have seen that and capture in this composition. Come on with the other good ones too.

Great compo! I would have prefered this image without the tractor, but my little boy will adore it! Bravo!!!!
