Description
Inspired by the great art print by Diana Beach of the same title, I've always wanted to do my own interpretation of her concept of the two war horses (US Cavalry and Native American) meeting after the fall of their riders in battle. I did the Cavalry horse much like a Morgan as the Cavalry later in and after the Civil War used several Morgan stallions in their Remount breeding program, usually crossed on Thoroughbred mares. I actually started this back in March in Poser but I just wasn't happy with what I had done then. So yet another old project I re-picked up again recently. You'll see more of that kind of thing from me in future:)
So the good ol' Production Notes (I don't know about you but I always learn a lot from someone else's production notes, so that's why I include them:) Mil Horse posed and morphed in Poser 5, Cavalry horse wearing morphed Daz Western Horse Tack for the Hil Horse. Imported into Bryce 5, textures applied there and horses and the new Daz PC product Dead Bushes rendered there. The background was created in Photoshop. Much postwork in Photoshop as well- the usual manes and tails, using Ravenheart's Heavenly Hair products - retouching, modifying and additions on bridle and breast plate etc.
Hope you enjoy! And thanks to everyone for their great and helpful comments and suggestions on Eagle Dance!

Truly stunning. I just love the concept of the two horses from opposite sides meeting after the battle. You've done an exceptional job on this fine work, always breathing such life into your horses.. The background is also gorgeous. CC

Stunning! Thank you for sharing this. I love the stance (and texture!) of the Native American horse. You've been horse-watching, I can tell. :) The only thing that bugs me just a tiny bit are the ears. Two horses meeting like that... there would be more expression in the ears (if you know what I mean). Still, I like the feeling of coiled and tense apprehension you managed to express there. I expect a squeal and a stomp when I look at the image. :) VERY well done.
