Description

This is what Junior (my name for the male juvenile eagle from my last post)was looking at so intently. Big sister my name for her :P ) is four days older and about a third larger. She started to fly approximately a week before junior. Before actually attempting to fly, they spend hours flapping their wings and assuming different soaring positions. It was a true thrill watching them develop. Un fortunately for me, once they begin to fly, mom and dad take them out to learn to hunt, so then they are rarely at their arie (nest) anymore. Hope you enjoy this one! John

valdimar11: I took the shots from approximately 100 meters away at the rivers edge on the opposite side from where the nest is located. The nest is probably about 30 meters or so up in the tree.
