Description
Hello you all!
I got inspiration to this about six hour ago (from Band of Brothers) and now its ready:) Very quickly done but I kind a like its feeling. I imagined myself to a frontline forest watching towards the enemy lines...
freezing cold...
starting to snow...
getting darker and darker...
Another night of terror.
Hope you'll like and any comments are much appreciated!
The Battle of Bastogne was a smaller battle in and around the Belgian town of Bastogne, during the larger Battle of the Bulge. The battle lasted from December 1944 to January 1945. During the battle, German divisions surrounded and attempted to capture Bastogne. The town was being held by the American 101st Airborne Division and Combat Command B of the U.S. 10th Armored Division. The Battle of the Bulge, which was mainly tank-based for the Germans, was fuel intensive. Thus, Allied forces needed to control all roads in the Ardennes to halt German tank progression. The seven main roads in the mountain range all converged on the small town of Bastogne. -Wikipedia

A couple of uncles, twins chuted in in late December, they wouldn't talk much about the war, but they always had time for the beauty of the place. The silence and peaceful nights of snow when you could pretend you were home in Maine out in the dooryard, watching for Santa. You could almost believe that there was no war at all. Then they would sigh, and shake their heads. This is much like the way I imagined it when they would talk. Thanks. BJ
