Description

Circa 1880 or so. This is the front portion of the previous (following) post. The passenger compartment. I looked and looked at this image hesitating to post it. See, it's a well-known fact that, like PDQ Bach, The Weese has one leg shorter than the other. Usually my images have a distinct list to port. I watch for this tendancy and was positive that I'd got it right this time. No tilt. I was right and the proof is overhead.... the lanterns in the clerestory are mounted on gimbals that would allow the lanterns to swing with the sway of the coaches and stay, more or less, plumb to the ground under the train. See how they are canted to the side? The blinking car is mounted somewhat on a slant! or the suspension is getting tired. Well, enough of that. I tried for other images in the car to show what modern was like back then: the toilet and the potbelly stove. Both came out too dark, but we get the idea. It beat walking across the prairies, but the Orient Express or Acela it was not! Enjoy; thanks for viewing.

Well it may not be the royal coach, but it certainly has some rich looking wood onboard. I'm just wondering how comfy those seats are? guess it doesn't matter though, as you already have noted "it beats walking across the prairies" Fab shot weesel, a quick glimpse back into yesteryear!!!
