Description
TwoPynts' Ishi-Doros reminded me of the ones I snapped photos of while visiting the beautiful Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden located on the north campus of Cal State University Long Beach in California. And, yes, there was subject matter out there to photograph other than the lovely Koi.
At least I think it's an Ishi-Doro! Imagine my embarrassment if it isn't! I'd have to retire from Renderosity!!!
That said, this is a sleekly sculptured modernistic model of the storied Japanese lantern, and, heaven forbid, maybe even an imitation, and isn't rustic or rough hewn as the ancient originals Kort has pictures of, but should be of some interest to those of you out there.
Thanks for dropping by, and have a serene and meditative day!

Great capture, buddy!!! I truly like this one! Deeper meaning and reflection required... I suppose you can reflect on exploding daisies as well, huh? lol... Love those pebbles in the background, must be a lovely garden!!! Thanks and have a great one! 8;o)

Awww, thanks buddy! Yep, it is an Ishi-Doro all right. A Hexagonal Kodai-Yukimi to be exact...but who wants to be exact. =o] I'd love to see this garden, it looks like it could give the one by me a run for it's money. BTW, see my gallery post today. ;']
