Description
"Sometimes? Always!"
Rendered in Daz Studio
Postwork in Photoshop
The look of this picture was inspired by playing "Silent Hill 2" after seeing the Movie - both have an amazing sense of atmosphere, achieved in part by serious attention to textural elements.
The Story/Concept was an on-flow of the Silent Hill experience combined with an interest in Children's Books like "Where the Wild Things Are" and a recent campaign by Sesame
Street to curtail the Cookie Monster's gluttony (as an aid to reducing Childhood Obesity and Diabetes) but calling all Sugary Treats "Sometimes Food".
Our Hero is a kid who one productive Halloween eats just way too much candy and falls into a Diabetic Coma. In the coma, his brain bathed in mega-doses of sugary alchemy, he finds himself in a dark Candyland where he must continue to Trick or Treat so he can fill a large sack that can then be swapped for healthy items like Fruit, Vegetables, SPAM and teeth-cleaning products like Toothpaste so his Blood-sgar Levels will decrease enough for him to escape his coma.
Of course, like any good Coma-Fantasy/Sugar-Nightmare, the Monsters are out to get him and his quest for Candy takes him into dark spooky places. Some creatures may help him and other will need to be beaten away with his Magic Lollywhirl.
When Sugar becomes an "Always Food", a stub of Broccoli sure starts to look good!

There are few things that are as scary as when "the cute ones" (little children, furry little animals) become the heros of scenes like this - as more with an expression like this. Stunning artwork, creepy story!!!

This is really excellent work. Good POV, lighting, detail and a story too. Cool. A very creative piece. I can't believe you haven't gotten more raves on this. - Bob (a very picky artist)
