Description
The locals call this lake Er Hai, or "The Ocean," although it's less than 40km at its longest. But if you lived your life in Dali, Yunnan province, China, it would surely be the biggest body of water you'd ever seen. Its nearly pristine waters are over 2000 meters above sea level.
This image depicts a larger-than-average fishing operation; Most are simply the husband pulling the oars and the wife working the nets.
The lake still yields enough (mostly small) fish to keep the citizens of Dali in omega-3 fatty acids. And so life goes on, even without the world wide web.
