Description
We just got done with one hell of a storm.
Winds up to 61 mph for 31 hrs. Massive power outages.
On days like this you can find many animals wandering around, looking to get out of the wind and a safe patch of trees that won't get blown over.
Driving up a old logging road, near Mt Baker, the doe jumped out in front of me.
With haughtiness, she refused to run. Guess it was her way of telling me I was the least of her problems.
She entered a sheltered clearing that had a few trees already blown down.
just before she went for the woods, and with the display of a nattiness, she turned as if to say, "take your picture, I'll pose."
She flipped her tail and was gone faster than a Governments promise the day after election.
A rainy windy day, a brief encounter on a abandon trail.
A little thing that doesn't make any difference in the way of the world or it's out-come, but it made my day. A meeting I will remember for a long time.

I'm not sure which I like more, the story or the photo! My deer shots are easy. They live and play and mate in my yard. They are not pets, and they are not tame. They just seem to see this place as sanctuary and tolerate my presence. I am warned if they see me as intrusive, and I back off. I know I wouldn't be able to get a shot like this under your circumstances.
