Good thing you didn't try that in Germany since when I was on a train to Muchen they searched my bags, I did get some great images while I was there, it's a shame I don't have them anymore. If they weren't just slide film I could've made backups when the digital revolution got here. I love the contrast of the white cliff with the green trees, the blue on the train with the brown on the bridge. Stupendous job!

Well Mere, I know why they call it the Whistler train! When it passes by, there is this cute Blond protruding from a window, and all the guys along the tracks whistle.. see.. easy! Problem solved! Now, what I find disturbing in this photo is that the tracks seem to end abruptly at the face of that mountain. Does the Engineer jump out, run ahead of the train, and paint a tunnel on the mountain? Like they do in the Rocket J. Squirrel cartoons? And speaking of Rocky.. ever notice the bombs Boris always uses? A ball with a fuse? Ever actually see one of those? I have.. just look at the postings in airport security that show a crossed circle with a ball bomb. Means no Bombs allowed on plane. Duhhhh... They don't show a grenade, nor a Stick of Dynamite.. They use a Boris Bomb! Now how cute is that? Great pic Mere and love your narrative. Much more descriptive than most sports I've seen on TV. Hugs from Dave :^)

A wonderful scene. having said that I'll tell you there is no way in this life you'd even get me on that train! I don't like crossing regular bridges in cars but look at that trestle! EEEEK! And a sharp bend at the end of it too. Triple EEEK!

This was a fun image to see and real LOL. Wait'll you see how busy this traintrack is in 2010. Be nice to see more of the ones you took on this train. Show the crowd here the actual beauty of our sea to sky. Thanks for sharing.

Watch out for the tunnels and the mailbag hangers. "No clearance this side of car" is a sign made just for you. (How I used this sign as a Poor Richard to evade a 6 months work exclusion on intellectual property is for the learned reader to imagine.) That was 25 years ago for any one who wants to squeel. Was that a coreshift or did we just go around a corner?

Fantastic shot. But it's not the one with you hanging to take a picture of the river. The explanation told in football (that should be American rugby), is very good and hilarious.

Hmmm... Good play! I like David's theory about the whistle train's name! However, how does he know that the Blond hanging out of the window is co cute? I had also noticed the lack of visible train tracks in front of the train. But when I used my photo simulation module to navigate the camera to the front of the train, I could clearly see the tracks moving down to the right between the trees and the face of the rock. Thank goodness for software! Case closed... I still have my eye on David however, for his cute blond comment! LOL
