Description

April 14th 1912, steaming west towards North America... The second and final Titanic render. As seen from a small aircraft POV. I thought of using IBL for this image but was concerned about a 5 day render due to lots of (barely visible at this scale) reflective objects on the ship such as the brass bell, ship's wheels etc. I recommend viewing full size as it is 3 times as big (full screen +). Lots more details to see. Thanks for looking, comments welcome.

An interesting idea. Nice touch leave the 4th funnel with no smoke.

Thanks for the comments. The fourth funnel was actually a 'fake' funnel just providing ventilation for the engine room. In those those days of ship design size mattered and the more funnels the better...

A much stronger image than the last. Love the perspective, and powerful colors. The only detraction is the smoke trail, but I posted a suggestion for you on that. Otherwise, the foam looks good, but could use the bow waves to increase realism. Good work for no postwork.

Thanks for the comment mboncher, this was made immediately following the last render, thus no time to act on your advice re the smoke and wake. Cheers, Steve

MBoncher is right about the bow wave or lack of. Adding such would have a dramatic affect of the whole piece. I don't have a problem with the smoke though. 5
