Description
Some have asked for renders on characters using the Light Dome PRO for Daz|Studio. (Out soon)
Here they are: Untouched! LOL Both rendered with Light Dome PRO, Mid Day preset, Medium Rez and Extended Version.
The LDP does work on characters, but the main power is in the shadows - not in the light. Also, rough objects look better - as the previous Stonemason building.
Also, Daz|Studio does render hair a bit odd. If using Raytraced Lights - it treats hair with transparent maps - a bit too transparent - as you can see on the close up.

were the renders a good time, or long?

looks good to me

Thanks! :) On my machine - they took just over 2 hours each. I use a dual 3.4 Ghz with 4 Gb of RAM - but im not sure if Daz|Studio does take benefit of the dual core...

Excellent!

Looking real good Walle! Lovely shadow work :) As for hair rendering in D/S using Raytraced shadows, I think it is down to the hair you used. I used Koz short bob set to platinum blond in a render and the results were well worth the 3hours it took to render (just the hair, the rest of the image took another 50 mins!) See what you think........ http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1259690

Terrific work - I've always admired you guys who do this stuff. I'm only good for snapshots so I really appreciate your work. :)

Very interesting, very cool lighting. I think you're right, it particular makes those rough textures look especially good. I look forward to more of your experiments along these lines.

Looks real good. Rendering is a bit of time though. Still, you can always start it rendering when you are going to bed or out for a night on the town right? Well done my friend...well done!

Wow, very interesting.

I agree that this light set does enhance textures of the building. Thing is, I don't have Daz studio. I take my hat off to you for your perserverance. Excellent work! Steve :o)

DAZ Studio doesnt take benefit of Dual Core Processors directly, i think. Only if you run other applications at the same time. The lighting looks really realistic!

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate your input and time taken... :)

DAZ makes use of both cores. They usually run at about 50-60% utilization so the machine is still reasonably useful for reading email and surfing the web.
