Where lions used to roam by busi2ness

Thank you for comments and visiting Guard the den:
I put together a collage of the farm Bona Bona where I photographed the lion series. It is safe when under the watchful eye of professional staff. It is a privilege to see and hear lions in an area where they had been exterminated during the 1860's. Hats off to these farm owners. They have to continually endure public scrutiny when there is an outcry against captive animals. Despite this they diligently rectify what had gone wrong in the past as far as it is feasible without jeopardizing live stock farming in the area. Ironic that the town in the area is called Leeudoringstad, it translates to Lion+thorn+city.
I managed to capture the lion cubs today but the lioness was very aggressive and made it difficult to get good photographs. I will upload at least one soon.
Have a super week!

Fantastic collage. Beautiful pussycat, maybe to big for a pet.

I just love the way the lion appears to "leap" out of the photo, brilliantly done - I would'nt even begin to know how to create that effect! Fantastic photo, amazing collage and creative presentation. I'm truly in awe of your work - I have spent a while viewing your gallery, now not enough time to comment on all of them unfortunately! You are truly blessed to be living in such beautiful surroundings, I could only ever dream of going to such a place. Thank you for bringing this country and it's beauty to those of us who will probably never get the chance to see it first hand. Hugs Chrissy a.k.a. BibbyBear
