Description

Another peacock capture from the beautiful Los Angeles County Botanic Garden located in beautiful Arcadia, California. Okay, this fella is in a fowl mood, and is proceeding up to the steps of the Botanic Garden offices, apparently to complain about the lack of food and females on the premises. At least the big guy wasn't going a mile a minute, so I was able to get in a decent shot. Too bad this capture wasn't in direct sunlight; the colors would have been spectacular. I have still more photos of the peacocks in action, but to avoid any possibility of boredom out there, I will take a hiatus from the bird for a while and tomorrow get onto other subject matter, which I have plenty of. Thank you for the comments on my previous postings. And thanks for dropping by, and have an enjoyable day!

I love peacocks they are a most amazingly colored birds. Is there any other bird's feather actually shiny and shimmer?

I have two of these guys, and several hens to drive them crazy. LOL I never get tired to watching them, and I love seeing other's photos of them.

The neck colors are great on this one. And posture as well. A great shot of a disagreeable bird. :-) oh, and as to the question of birds with shiny and shimmering plumage... look at pigeons sometime. So many have gorgeous neck and chest bands but people really don't look much at a "common" pigeon. They are beautifully colored!

Unfortunately, LENK911, I didn't see any peacocks with their plumage all fanned out in an effort to seduce peahens (females), and I was there for hours. I even tried begging them for one of their famous displays, but was completely ignored. That was most disappointing and frustrating.

Peacocks in action? What exactly does a peacock do for action? Does it go bungy-jumping? Kickboxing? Do tell, i wanna know. #:oP Hey...i think babuci might be the one responsible for this very peacocks poor tailfeathers. They seem to be somewhat out of shape, and i just saw a macro of just that feather in her gallery. Ooops...im getting late for work. Gotta run. Have a great weekend Harry! Bird

LOl Harry... I just love to read your comments on your photos...always eager to see how you put the words this time... and I like this photo even more than the other ones.. as the stairs somehow seem to fit with the slightly highnosed attitude of the peacock

Neat shot, and I think the dappled light is better than the direct sunlight. Nice work!!
