Description

Are you guys gettin' tired of my birds? This "might" be the last one... I guess you can only hope... ;) Created entirely within Ultra Fractal... even the cascade of leaves on the right were created using Iterated Function Systems (mt.ucl)... going at it the long and hard way... :) There are 50+ layers to this one. I've been reading the thread on the UF list which addresses the question, "Is it a matter of not knowing when to stop?" I haven't contributed to the sage and diversified trains of thought on that one... but I know that this particular image would not have been possible by using only a couple of layers. I'm all for the "less is more" mindset when it comes to creating controlled chaos... meaning that if we can come up with a pleasing, well-defined fractal using one, two or three layers... it should not, then, be intentionally complicated (or "grunged") by adding a bunch of chaotic layers for the sole purpose of defining fractal art the way we may perceive it to be defined by others. Does that make any sense? Probably not... ;) Anyway... thanks so much for all of your kind and encouraging responses on these bird images to which I've been subjecting you ... I surely appreciate your time and your words. And thanks for having a look at this one... Hugs! Helen :)

Tired of your birds??? Whaaaa??? Never! I've been reading the thread in the UF list, too, and agree with you. Whatever it takes is whatever it takes. What's amazing to me is that you manage to get such beautiful simplicity with so many layers, and that you can keep track of them all!

Layer on LM...layer on! ;-) You and your birds are nothing short of spectacular, and this dog can't get enough of them. This is one dramatic bird, and I applaud your efforts. Can't wait to see the hatchlings :-)

Makes absolute sense to me, Helen, and I agree with you. I'm never concerned with how many or how few..but only with whatever it takes to satisy my eye. This is a wonderful eye-pleaser, so I'm happy for all 50 layers, though it must have taken much patience on your part. To me, the viewer, every minute and layer was worth this stunningly beautiful result. Superb fractal art- in every respect.

I don't think I could ever get tired of seeing your birds. I love them. I don't think there should be any questions to how many layers. I say use as many layers as you feel needed. You do the most wonderful images and I DO look forward to more birds. I think there are awesome. Excellent image . :)

This dragonbird must really be a love bird as shown by all the upside-down heart at the ends of her feathers. She has laid some lovely colorful eggs. Very creative image.

What fun this is! The background is very 'William Morris' but the rest is pure fairy tale. I like those eggs....nice touch! :)

A Masterpiece! Tired of birds? Not when they are as lovely as this fantastic critter! I can't begin to comprehend 50 layers!! I am as lost as an Easter Egg when it comes to UF. Sometimes after slaving 3 or 4 hours I can come up with something that looks worthy of a post. Most of the time not. I am sooooo IMPRESSED! My only regret is that I have to take your last image off of my desktop so that I can put this one in its place! BRAVA!!
