OK, we have a bit of a problem. We have mice in the house and kids. Now, that wouldn't be such a problem except that the kids would be devastated if I killed "Cinderella's helpers." So I rigged myself up a very mouse-friendly trap to catch them quite alive and well and we take them way out to a wooded area and set them free. Of course, tonight is is getting down to around 20F, so i'm not about to go galavanting out there tonight. Therefore, we have two little mice in a jar with some crackers to enjoy until tomorrow. They seem to like each other just fine (and are probably related). This is mouses numbers five and six. We already captured and realeased four. Of course the kids are delighted to watch the mice especially when they try to jump out (never mind the fact there is a lid on the jar). They look like a couple of little Mexican jumping beans. It is very funny to watch.
This is a shot of them in a nice peaceful moment taken with my new Panasonic DMC-LZ5 - No flash, ISO 400. I like the Cannons better generally, but with a 6x OPTICAL zoom, 6 megapixels AND stabilization, it really has more versatility and does a better job than any of the other similarly priced digitals ($200-$250 US). So far I am very pleased. I also discoverd that the digital zoom actually DOES work with more detail and clarity than the optical max with photoshop enhancements. Zoomed all the way to 24x, I can read the 14 point type on a list on the fridge, from 30 feet away in indoor lighting WITHOUT a tripod. I was impressed.

A wonderful capture my dear Knight. So glad you caught cinderella's helpers humanley :-) I like meece, but not in my house!! The garden would be so happy to see these little fellas. The photo is excellent!!!However...... When you live in the country in the southwest corner of GA, mice in the house are not treated "sweetly." Glad the grandkids were not here to see the mouse Granny caught last night!! It is good that they enjoyed the little mammals--they (the mice of course!) make great food for the beautiful red-tailed hawk in the giant oak tree in the thicket behind the house!!:-{ I am looking forward to seeing the Christmas pictures from your new camera. If mice can look this good I know the GRANDkids will look great!!:-)

What an excellent capture! The somewhat mischievous look in his eye is just priceless! I guess he is an old grandfather by now, living in the woods where you set him free, with his enormous offspring. :)
