Description
Both trails ahead of me seemed equally deserted. As I was trying to make up my mind whether to go straight or to the east as Goodie Tegall had recommended, my attention was captured by a crow sitting in one of the nearby trees. It looked at me, cawed and then flew down the path that led east. Thinking that following the crow might be a bad omen, I decided to head straight ahead, but suddenly, the crow flew at me, flying in front of my face, preventing me from going down the path that lead straight ahead.
When I turned back, the crow once again flew off to the east. I decided to follow the advice of the goodwife and followed in the wake of the crow; I took the trail that headed east.
The choice I made took me deeper into the wooded landscape; the only sounds I could hear were birds who seemed startled by my presence. I was glad for the cape that I had been given. The sun
