Hi all. My name is Donnie. I enjoy working with 3D animation and rendering software. I do work on the side on a regular basis. Mainly flying logos and architectural work. All of which, due to NDA I cant display here.
Honestly though I really enjoy just putting my "tinkerings" here on Renderosity. Experiments or learning exercises. My main tool these days is Carrara. I also use Lightwave on a regular basis, especially with established clients whom I have done a lot of work for in the past using LW. All the scenes are setup.
I have been migrating everything to Carrara only, where possible of course. Somethings like Hypervoxel scenes are best left to Lightwave. There are workarounds in Carrara, but usually much slower than LW's HV's.
I really enjoy the accessible nature of Carrara. I know my way around Lightwave pretty well after nearly 10 years, but I have more "fun" in Carrara. I also use Vue, but not nearly as much as Carrara or LW. I really enjoy working on landscapes with Carrara.
Thanks for looking and have a great day!!
Donnie

Sweeeet. The magnetic letters are a nice touch. :) You know what would make it look more lived in? Crumbs on the floor - especially in the corners! :D

Oh, I'm loving watching this come along... a couple of suggestions if you don't mind: First, I think a really nice green scenery-type of background would be nice as a view out the window. Maybe just a background picture rather than Carrara's built-in terrains (so you can save on resources). And second, I really love the reflection on the table! But, adding the table caused a desperate need for depth of field in the image. Don't know if you want to mess with that, but just thought I'd throw that out there. The reason being is because the 'tops' of the two chairs that are facing the camera seem to blend in too much with the kitchen background. You can barely see the separation of the two. It almost looks as if the tops of the chairs are just painted onto the picture. You know, I can't tell if you put reflection on the chairs or not though... maybe that's the problem. They might just need reflection to distinguish them from the background... But other than those two things, I think the image is coming along great. Very nice idea to add a table to the image... the letters on the refridgerator are pretty cool, too. :) I'd probably change the fabric on the chairs to a darker green that matches the countertops more. Oh, how I love Carrara... lol Can't wait to see when you're done! :)

Thanks for the suggestions. DOF will almost definitely be in the final render.

Great job on this , the lighting is very nice and the models look great too. If you are adding things , maybe you could put a baseboard at the floor of the wall that the clock is on.
