What an imposing building that was in its heyday. Fascinating to see the comparisons.

The ruin of the Dungeness looks really fascinating! Beautiful to see how the plants are covering the stone walls! What a wonderful place here! Is it still Cumberland Island! I guess so! Thanks for this fabulous photo series you have posted in the past here!!!

Even though the photo you linked to was tiny, you can still see what a beautiful building it once was.Though now a ruin,it still retains it's air of grace and romance.Wonderful work,Kortalouche. You did a great job 'capturing' it's atmosphere.-M :^)

Nice picture...But this is to tell you I love your Avatar! Christmas feels like I'm getting dumped on this year, so I can really relate to your logo.

Provocative Avatar - but funny nevertheless. For your pic? Bravo - very well composed and executed. The muted colors support the mood. A shame of having Buildings like that and not attempting to bring them back to their former glory!

I like how the trees frame the picture and the road leads your eye right to the mansion...

Superb capture of the end of the Cumberland odyssey. Okay, you entered a time warp and ended up right after the Civil War taking a photo of a building awaiting razing. The Yankee artillery really did a number on the edifice. Left the grounds in pretty good shape though. And, what is that palm tree doing there? I didn't know those grew in Mississippi.
