Description

As I was out and about around Lake Martin I came across these bones. They rib cage of some animal I did pick them up and put them as you see here. I know it hard to see thinking they may be sticks; but they bones. I had the 200mm lens on I not sure if I had the 2x thingy on to make it 400mm. Someone told me to keep a log on the shots I take. That way I learn faster and more. I real bad at keep records and keeping them in order. I real bad at order. But I know he right. I going to try. Do not know if I keep up with it. Thanks for looking and comments. Shot with 35MM film with a Minolta[about 26 years old] at around 2 in the afternoon. Not the golden hours of photo taken.[Which is sun rise and sun set.]

Maybe not photographed during the golden hours, but Jocko, your picture here has everything going for it. . . an interesting and unusual subject, clever use of depth of field, fine "document" style lighting. It also has added extra's like the plant leaves and small branch textures. I like the point of view and feel this is a "Top Rate" artwork!

Cool shot. Just goes to show you can find photo subjects anywhere if you look hard enough.

CIAO!!Really very impressive capture!Your Minolta does excellent photos! These bones of what animal are? This photo is certainly of excellent quality! The subject is a little wasted away.. says reduced to the bone!! the colors are stunning and the clarity is fantastic!!Well done!!Ciao my dearest friend Jock!!I wish you a happy sunday!!A big kiss and a big hug!!

Gruesome find Jock but an excellent capture. Thats where the 200mm lens pays dividends as it isolates almost everything but the main subject of interest. Fantastic POV and exposure!

Nice shot of the bones. Reminds me of the barbequed ribs you eat at the restaurant. When you posted your "No bones about it" title, I thought you were going to show the bone man in a UV composition. A few months after I bought my Konica Minolta digital camera the company went out of business, and transferred all their assets to Sony. So if I need technical help or literature on my camera I have to contact Sony.

Very interesting shot, also kinda sad... When I first saw it, I thought, "Mmm, ribs!" (lol) but then it hit me, some poor creature died. Awwww On another note, the way you positioned the bones also makes me think of a huge crab that came out of the sea and sorta got stuck in the grass. I don't know if you can see what I'm talking about, but the part of the ribs that are leaning toward the ground remind me of Alaskan crab legs. Or maybe that's just because it's after 11 PM and I still haven't eaten today. lolol Thanks again for sharing your shots, and the backstory. I missed your works when I was away. :)

Death is never appealing and yet... It reminds of a common occurrence in Africa where animals are snared and just left to die.

Dear Jock, I think ti turned out really well. The lighting is good, your depth of field is right on, and I think the point of view is very good, too!! And don't worry - I would never pick up anything with bare hands!!! Actually, I much prefer having guys around to do all thos type things for me!!!!!! ;-) I can't realyl figure out the size exactly. I think it's too small for a deer - and if it were that big, I think you would have mentioned it. So maybe a raccoon or opossum or maybe even nutria??? Super shot and you're really coming along with your new camera!!!! Love ya, Meredith PS - and I hope things are going well for you personally, too!!!!
