Thank you all for comments. The symbol on the gate is the white rose, the emblem of Yorkshire. The little mouse on the top is the trade mark of a world faumous woodcarver. Robert Thompson, loving know as 'Mouse" Thompson. The gate you see here is adorns The Old Police Station in Robin Hood's Bay North Yorkshire. U.K. Laurence suggested I crop, so we could see the dear little mouse better :-) More Hugs. Diane.
