Description

based on an earlier suggestion, I tried to pull some ot the color out of the background to make this guy stand out a bit. Too much? too little? does it just look like I "cut-and-pasted" the flower in there (I never could figure out what happened to the stem in this shot). Also, as a side note, the orange in this photo looks kinda washed out when I view in photoshop 7, but looks vibrant and bright in other apps, (ACDSee, windows preview, etc.) Why is this?, and does anyone know what I need to change?

Hi, can't help with the technical questions but I love the shot. The orange is well worth pulling out. It is a little fuzzy but sharpening would make it look a little fake. A trick that I sometimes use and can be seen in my image Center of the Universe, is to select the main image (in this case the orange flower) and to then invert the selection and use a gausian blur or similar on the rest of the image. This give the impression of a sharper central object. Hope this helps? Rob
