Description
Mt.Scott in SW Oklahoma is a flat-topped mountain that presides over the Wichita Mountains, the oldest mountain range in North America. The views from the top (which you get to via a road that spirals precariously up the mountain) are tremendous, 360 degrees from the uppermost rocks. When I am there I have an intense feeling of being home. There are many who feel the same. Enjoy the view!

It is near Lawton, where I grew up. =) There are two main entrances, one to the north at Meers, and one to the SE at Medicine Creek with an exit off the highway connecting to Oklahoma City. Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge

Beautiful capture, Medicine Park is one of my favorite places in the Okla. to visit. I never miss eating at the Old Plantation Restaurant, and the festive atmosphere with people walking the streets and the river walk is just to inviting to miss. But the wildlife refuge holds something new most every time I go and I try to go three or four times a year. Maybe more this year, I've been there the last two weekend in a row. I do love your part of the world one thing about living in Okla. all four corners of the state has different scenic treasures to capture. But the rugged beauty of the WMWR draws me back over and over. I now the spot you shot this image from well, it doesn't matter from where you shot off of Mt.Scott there is a photographic treasure waiting to be shared.
