I've never seen a tree do that. Have you seen other trees in this area do that? The picture looks great but it holds a lot of mystery. I don't doubt you came across it, but the left picture looks like someone drip white paint - maybe it was Mother Nature. Anyway, thanks for shareing the picture.

I zoomed in for a look on the orginal and it appears to be some sort of mold rather than white paint

Now, first I want to ask who had the audacity to cut off such an old tree?!? Yeah, I'm a Green person. Not big on people ravishing nature :( I like the texture and warm colours though. Great shot!
