Description

Hackensack River, Hackensack NJ I took this a couple of days ago. I pulled over to the side of the road not because of this but because the gulls were lined up on the pilons before it. As I was walking back to my car I caught sight of the pilons here leaning. I discovered high noon and my camera just don't seem to get along no matter what I do, but here for it worked. I printed out a few shot s I had taken, this one just stood out from the crowd. In my hand it seems as if the pilons were transposed rather than an actual part of the scene. I tried scanning the pic but my scanner is antiquated and seems to bring about a grainy image. I do hope you enjoy. I couldn't decide on a background to make it stand out. It seemed to just blend in. hmm..now I'm wondering if I shouldn't have just left it as is just for the effect. I think I just might try that with the next post just to experiment and see how it looks with out one.

The harsh mid day sun can wash things out at times. A little postwork usually helps a lot. Myself I'd would try adjusting the levels to bring out the natural colors more, and perhaps allow me to get a better idea on a frame. Of course, that's if you have a image editing program, but you did use something to put a frame on, so I'm guessing you do. Looks like a intriguing area, you know, industrial sights, rivers and such. Nice work!!

I just adore snaps of old and decrepit architecture and such. This is beautifully composed.

By background did you mean frame or background inside the image? I can see how such image white would blend with Rosity white without a frame to make them distinct from another. That would be a cool image though.. say a snow image so a viewer can't tell where image edges end and Rosity background starts. I should try that sometime...lol. The image itself brings forth many questions. Someone must know why a bunch of logs are tied at the end of a small peer and how long has this situation has existed. It's a mystery and I love mysteries..lol. Cool image Michelle. Hugs from Dave :^)
