Description
The Douglas Skyraider entered service after WW2 and proved to be a robust ground attack aircraft operating from land and carriers. A small number served in the Royal Navy as radar patrol aircraft.
In the film BAT 21 two Skyraiders show just what the aircraft was like at low level.
An idea of the large size can be gained by looking at the entrance door in the fuselage.

Seven or eight commandos in there and it becomes a little airliner like those of the 30's.

aka "Spad" :). On account of at the time the Air Force inventory was mostly jets. Something with a propellor was seen as comming out of WWI. The Navy called them Sandies. Great shot!

Whata cool fly-by shot! Well captured! When my uncle flew these during the Korean War it was the AD (Able Dog)-1. The designation was changed to the A-1 during the sixties. By any name, it was a superb ground attack plane and one even shot down a Mig over North Vietnam!
