Description

I like to use nature lighting. But at times you can not. As you see here I shot the same people back to back to see what the flash will do. I thought a flash would be good for six to seven feet. I see it went and light up the whole room. The bottom one I can fix in photoshop if I wish but it would have grains and I can take the grain out out but then the image will not be sharp. I would have to unsharpen it. I do have neat image but I saw what it do. Do what I just say lol. I had to take a lot of shots with flash. This is after the wedding and after they ate as you see some dirty dishes on the table. The one in the wheel chair is Roseland mother. She is real sweet person. thanks for looking and comments

A fascinating comparison! Unbelievable what an effect a flash can have! Both shots have their own fascination and atmosphere!!!

Flash works for me on my night walks in the lava fields. Flash is also good during the day when the sun cast to many shadows. No one dancing? Excellent shot of everyone. Aloha

Dear Jock, I don't know whether this was with your film camera or the digital one, but sometimes when you use the flash, the camera will adjust the exposure so that it seems like the flash lit up the whole room - but it's really a mix of flash and available light. Were you shooting from a tripod?? When I'm doing indoor available light I always try to do that and go with a long exposure. Even if I can't use a tripid, I try to brace against something and take at least one longer shot. Most of the time, I can't hold things steady for much over a 1/30 of a second - I'm really not a very good photographer. But I can do much better with a tripod or with some bracing!!! I'm glad that you like your son's new in-laws!! I'm sure that is a big help in getting a marriage off to a good start!!! Looks like everyone was having a good time!!! Love ya!!!! Meredith

Nice photo comparision between flash and no flash, Jocko.e I had to look a bit at the darker shot to see that a few peopl had moved a little from the flash photo, then I saw some had moved. I wonder if there is a way in PSP or PS to combine the two photo's, maybe it would be cool, or maybe the people that moved would make a combination not a good idea?

I like no flash Jock!! I know you cannot see the people well, I like the mood better than the bright shot. Good experiment. Hugs for all family. Di.

Not too bad, but you needed a flash for this one, Jocko, or at least a very long exposure with a tripod/monopod! Sorry about that.

At least your flash does not give everyone red eye like I do LoL. I'm not good with flash +people. But like you I learn from doing it. I think you've taken some interesting pictures.

Great to see them side by side, one forgets how unnatural flash light can be. Good test..

I prefer flash unless it is a outdoor scene and can adjust for speed. people will not stay still long enough. a fine job and it is wonderful your son had a nice wedding. I bet he wished his mother could have been there

What a happy time. Looks like stuff is just about finished here. Everyone looks tired. lol. Maybe it is because it is really dark there and you can't tell that with the flash. Everyone is relaxed. Nice work.
